Dell sells Windows 7

Back to News & Articles

Dell

Initial conditions:
When Microsoft launched Windows7, DELL, found themselves with a lot of clients who were using various versions of older Microsoft Operating Systems, and there was an obvious sales opportunity and upgrade path those users to the new acclaimed Windows 7 platform. Chaos were briefed to create an effective internal communications campaign with sales tools to educate the Dell salesforce in how to migrate and upgrade their clients.

Chaos thinking™
The emphasis for this job was communication rather than design. Firstly Chaos created quick reference collateral for ‘Discover the Opportunity‘ and ‘Position the Service’ to enable the sales teams to digest all relevant sales information. As DELL’s clients range from Enterprise through to single individuals, the material had to be comprehensive enough to cover any customer scenario, but also be clear and concise so that the customer’s need could be identified quickly and the appropriate action taken.

From information supplied by Dell, Chaos designed and structured the content, which included call to actions throughout, FAQ’s and access to resources to enable them to smoothly transition clients over to Windows 7. As well as printed materials, a direct internal poster campaign and pull up banners were installed across all DELL EMEA sites to raise awareness of the sales initiative. Clear simple and on brand, the material clearly communicated the easy migration upgrade path opportunity.

Creative Enablement™
By introducing a clear internal communications strategy, DELL was able to educate their teams effectively and comprehensively across Europe, enabling them to maximise their sales opportunities to the fullest. Chaos quickly and efficiently provided studio services to activate the campaign.
